My oral presentation that is available to view on my portfolio is related to my documented essay paper. I wrote an essay about Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election, and being a female in politics. For my speech on this paper, I wanted to persuade the audience how difficult it is for a female to run for office. I didn’t want to discuss Hillary Clinton, as she is a very polarizing topic, which I focus on more in the essay. Since I only had a brief amount of time I wanted to streamline and discuss the very core aspect of my paper. I was able to talk about the main points of being a female – having to control your voice, choosing words carefully as well as being judged on appearance. I felt having a general scope of all female politicians would show just how prevalent the issue of inequality is. My slides were very minimalistic as far as words go, as I wanted this presentation to focus on what I was saying. I didn’t want the audience to be reading while I was talking. I am very proud of this presentation, and I believe it accomplished everything I wanted.
