- What brainstorming/invention/prewriting activities work best for you?
- My favorite way to brainstorm new ideas for a paper is to allow my mind to just run with the idea. A majority of the ideas that my mind comes up with would not be very effective in paper, however that is not to say that I do not find good ideas from that manner. On top of this, I find my other most effective way to come up with ideas is to go onto google. I am finding more and more that I am becoming dependent on the internet. While this is not good, it allows a new venue to find my answers.
- How might different genres require different types of brainstorming (e.g., lists, outlines, graphic bubbles, freewriting, talking to someone about your ideas, research, etc.)
- In this paper, the best option was to allow my mind to wonder, this is not always the case. my approach at brainstorming drastically changes depending on what kind of paper I am writing. For example, for a persuasive essay I would use a list and write out the stances for each side of my essay. In a research paper, my brainstorming would mostly be used in research rather than other ways. Each of these brainstorming ideas is a good choice to use in ways that the other options can not do.
