About Me

Hey! Thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Aye Nu Win and I am an undergraduate at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.

I am majoring in Spanish Education and I am hoping to study abroad within the next year or the year after in Spain or somewhere in South America. I am still learning to improve my English and of course Spanish for my major. While striving to improve my English literacy, ENG 250 has helped me in important areas in my future professional career which include all the four elements in W-O-V-E, each specific element is explained in details on the tabs above.

I identify myself as a Christian Karen-American woman. Karen is an ethnic group from Southeast Asia. Karen is also referred to the native language that I speak at home. My family immigrated from a Thai refugee camp in Thailand in the year of 2007 and started our new life in Phoenix, Arizona. With no understanding or speaking English, every day was a struggle. Adapting to the American culture was a huge adjustment for my family.

After years of living in America, I started to gradually involve in sports such as high school soccer and volleyball. I acknowledged that in American culture, sports are popular type of entertainment here in the country. I was fortunate to become a member of Iowa State Women’s Soccer Club in the fall of 2016.

I never thought or dream of attending a university and here I am today. I am thankful for my parents and their decision to resettle here at the United States. The struggle that I’ve experienced has shaped me to become who I am today and where I am heading in the future. I can say that I am beyond blessed with the life I have now.
