The following information came from current PhD students who were asked to complete a survey about their recommendations for coursework:
- STAT401, STAT402, STAT404, STAT457, STAT559X — I take these courses for my research in speaking assessment as well as for the requirements of the ALT program.
- ResEv 552, 553,
- Psych 594C are all good stats courses for any field
- Stat courses in Sociology – Very good professor. Useful for what I’m doing.
- STAT 401. I took it in a summer session, which is when it is harder, but one learns more than if taken in Fall or Spring. So, even though it is hard, if your goal is to learn enough basic stats to do tests on your own (regression, anova, t-test, etc.), take this class, and take it in the summer (but be ready to cry daily 😀 ).
